KEEPING SANE AT CHRISTMAS

The New Year is here.

This was the longest Christmas I've had to endure. Reason? I spent it away from my family... in Abuja. #Tip for the Future => Abuja is NOT a travel destination at Christmas! The Nation's Capital was a veritable ghost town of sorts.

Er... Okay my Dad came to visit, but he's working half the time... That doesn't count, does it?

I missed Mom's cooking and gist. My brothers shenanigans, especially the after-hours cooking at 2a.m. after plenty of partying and boozing. I missed the laughter. I missed the fun. I missed the feeling of connection that comes with being a part of a closely knit family unit.

It was tough!

Here's a glimpse of how I managed to keep sane over the festivities.

On the 24th: Hung out with friends...

Sir Cornells of passionistahub

Me! Having a Cosmopolitan and hanging in there.
26th - Tramping through Arts & Crafts Center with Sir Cornells

So Sir Cornells took one look at my satchel/ man-bag and had to have one. We went from shop to shop perusing their wares but like all great finds, it was a one off. A bit disappointing but a great way to spend time.
Very colorful drums.
This looked like the ideal tool to handle my afro.

This looked like it had the 'Ayo' game concept. I was about to grab it until it was opened. I still don't get what it was meant to be.

Great man-bag, wrong size.
Fascinating wood work for a brief case.
The 'Aladdin' slippers caught my eye.

And more bags.

I thought Sir Cornells looked great with this man-bag but he had something entirely different in mind.

He got this amazing necklace/ bracelet made from some sort of stone and magnet!! We were fascinated!

Wearing it as a bracelet.

My only purchase of the day. Luurv it!!

I took several dozen random pictures that will pop up later. Hope y'all had a lovely time.

MERRY CHRISTMAS FINDS.

How are you all doing? I wish everyone a fantastic Christmas and a beautifully blessed and prosperous New Year.

In this season of 'buy buy', what have you guys bought that you are absolutely gaga about? I don't know about you, but I've bought things during Christmas, get home and ask myself if I was hypnotised at the point of purchase.

For that reason, I've made it a principle not to shop at Christmas/ New Year, but I made an exception to the rule when I stumbled upon these pieces. Love I tell you.....

I stumbled into this while roaming around in the Arts & Crafts Center Abuja and just had to have it! After laising with my friend and fellow fashion blogger Sir Cornells of fashion360plus who went absolutely 'speechless' at the 'masculine lines'; his words not mine, I left the shop with my satchel in tow and my purse considerably lighter. One purchase I would make all over again. Lurv!!!
The back view of my Croc Skin Satchel. Perfect for an Ipad, note-pads etc. Perfect for work. Great for school.

Suffice to say, Vivienne Westwood is a designer I love for the edge in her designs. The bottle cap has a crucifix on it!! The scent? Not sweetly feminine, not overpoweringly masculine. Perfect!

This piece really lightened my purse. Bought from some Arab owned jewellry shop in Abuja. I'm so in-love with it that no other neck piece exists for me at the moment. It's a statement piece.

Sam Elderman = Edge. Need I say more? <3

Er... I have an obsession with cheetah print. Had to have this! Perfect with a black short office dress.

What have y' all been buying this Christmas?

Love & Light,

xoxo
