HOW DOES IT FEEL?

As a teenager, I had a massive crush on D'Angelo. His smoldering eyes, lush lips and sculptured abs, incredible voice and unimaginable talent. His songs magically transported you to another place (they still do) from 'Brown Sugar', to 'Cruising' and who could forget this incredibly sexy video 'How does it feel?' Classic! The rock critic Robert Chrisgau once referred to him as an R&B Jesus!

Michael Eugene Archer, better known by his stage name D'Angelo is an American R&B, neo-soul sing songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer. He has been compared to his influences Marvin Gaye and Prince.

The good news is that this hottie is back in rare form after over a decade of absence spent battling alcoholism and drugs. No-one is more excited than I am and I can't wait for the album to hit the stores. I've put up one of my all time favorite video of the artist for your enjoyment.

D'ANGELO IS BACK!

Dressed in jeans and a white T-shirt, his hair in short tiny braids, D'Angelo looks good at 38—more solid than in his famously shirtless six-pack years, but clear-eyed and radiantly handsome. "I didn't really think I had a problem like that," he says, taking a hit off a Newport. "I felt like, you know, all I got to do is clean up and I'll be fine. Just get in the studio and I'll be fucking fine."

What finally made him see, he says, was the passing of J Dilla, the revered hip-hop producer, on February 10, 2006. They'd just talked on the phone, D'Angelo says, when suddenly, J Dilla was gone at 32 after a long battle with lupus. It was like a blinding light had been switched on. Why did so many black artists die so young? He'd been haunted by this thought for years. Marvin. Jimi. Biggie. "I felt like I was going to be next. I ain't bullshitting. I was scared then," he says, recalling how shame engulfed him, preventing him from attending the funeral. "I was so fucked-up, I couldn't go."

Shame, guilt, repentance—D'Angelo knows them well. To say that he was raised religious doesn't begin to capture it. He's the son and the grandson of Pentecostal preachers. To D'Angelo, good and evil are not abstract concepts but tangible forces he reckons with every day. In his life and in his music, he has always felt the tension between the sacred and the profane, the darkness and the light.

"You know what they say about Lucifer, right, before he was cast out?" D'Angelo asks me now. "Every angel has their specialty, and his was praise. They say that he could play every instrument with one finger and that the music was just awesome. And he was exceptionally beautiful, Lucifer—as an angel, he was."

But after he descended into hell, Lucifer was fearsome, he tells me. "There's forces that are going on that I don't think a lot of motherfuckers that make music today are aware of," he says. "It's deep. I've felt it. I've felt other forces pulling at me." He stubs out his cigarette and leans toward me, taking my hand. "This is a very powerful medium that we are involved in," he says gravely. "I learned at an early age that what we were doing in the choir was just as important as the preacher. It was a ministry in itself. We could stir the pot, you know? The stage is our pulpit, and you can use all of that energy and that music and the lights and the colors and the sound. But you know, you've got to be careful."

WHO WORE IT BETTER?

I've always found personal style fascinating! It's interesting how two people can wear the same outfit - yet so differently!

The curly haired Beyonce wearing an all yellow suit with the ever popular Prada flame heels in the stiletto version and Fergie attending the Don-a-Matrix event in Berverly Hill in an all green ensemble - a BCBGMaxAzria dress, a matching Adolfo Sanchez jacket along with a Kzeniya clutch and the Prada flame wedges from the Spring 2012 Collection.
Which of the songstresses style in up your alley?

I love Bey's nail color! ^_^

Love the flame wedge! It's a tie for me.

Sai Sankohof wearing a basic black blazer, Zara pants, a fun vintage sweater, Balecengia Shades and Christian Louboutin Paolo Mesh  & Satin shoes.
Kim Kardashian wears a stunning black leather body and the same shoes on on her way to the Kimmel Live Show. Who rocked it better?

Both styles are spot on!

The gorgeous mesh shoes.

Lady Gaga looked stunning in this Antonio Beradi Fall 2012 tangerine coloured dress as she srrived at the Auckland hotel in New Zealand. The vintage styled white sunglassives, gloves and white Christian Louboutin Dafoddil pumps give the outfit a decided edge.
Beyonce exuded star quality in this Peter Som dress which is actually two seperate pieces - a shirt and a skirt. Combined with an elegant pair of Casadei pumps, she looks fab!

For me, Lady G nails it!

GENEVA - PART II

The second day in Geneva we were up early and headed out on time to keep our scheduled appointment at both the WTO and WIPO. After the presentation ended at the WTO, which was our first port of call, we lounged around its magnificent courtyard firing up on coffee, brownies and whatever we could lay our hands on. The next stop was the Je Raffole de la Botanique where we passed time until the next presentation soaking up the sweet Geneva sun after months of enduring the unpredictable and dreary English weather.

All I can say is that we could all take lessons from the Switz on how to enjoy life. Hah!

Enjoy!

Receiving the presentation.

Our speaker.

Dr .A. Paolini, our Group Head and Professor of Law at the University of Buckingham,

A veritable fountain of knowledge on the WTO.

The group. (Excuse the picture quality. As you can see, I was not responsible. :D)

Enjoying the lovely courtyard.

Our eye candy on the trip.

I gave up trying to figure out how this indoor fountain worked.

Done with the WTO.

My people. :)

Arriving at the Je Raffole de la Botanique.

I've always been a nature enthusiast.

Beautiful.

So serene. :)

We were not alone in our quest to soak up the sun.

The colors were amazingly vivid and I tried to pick one because it matched my dress. An  little bee flew out of the petals buzzing angrily at me and sent me quickly on my way  :(

Relaxing.

The lovely Banke and Tishan.

Tishan doing cartwheels at the beauty of it all. *Lols*

C'est moi.

The glamorous Banke. <3

Trying to do the 'pose pose' thing that bloggers do... err, I might need to work on that a bit.  What can I say, c'est not me? :D

Pausing in the hurry of life to smell the flowers...or is it roses? All join sha.

*Lol* Not all of us can be romantics, ainnit?

My two favorite 'girls'.

Another spot what's wrong with the picture moment. Is that a man blowing  a trumpet, smoking a pipe or rubbing his belly?

I said it before and I'll say it again, swag for dayzzzz!!!

Pausing to enjoy one of the other fine things in life... :D

I wasn't left out. :)

Miss B taking in the scenery.

The chicks couldn't have been more than a couple of days old. Cute!

My photography skills are improving to my delight! Can you spot both fishes in the background?

Last picture before we headed out of the garden to WIPO for our next presentation.

More pictures to come your way tomorrow. Right now food, bed and Criminal Minds beckon.

Au revoir & lush chocolate kisses,
