DAY 52: THE OLYMPIC TORCH IN BUCKINGHAM.

It's said that there are some things you only experience once in a lifetime. I totally agree! What were the odds that I would be in England, in the very town, and on the very month and day that the Olympic torch would pass through? What were the chances that the current serving Speaker of the House of Commons and Member of the Parliament John Bercow http://www.johnbercow.co.uk/ would be an indigene of Buckingham? There is every probability that that featured in the scheme of things somehow to bring the Olympic Torch to our quiet, little town of Buckingham. Amazingly Divine I tell you!

Anyways, we'd been planning for the event for months now and the day was finally here! The girls and I dragged ourselves out of bed early, put on some warm clothes and headed out to wait for the Olympic Torch armed with our national flag. It was scheduled to be in Buckingham for 10.20 am, so while we waited, we goofed around and had pictures taken. Some of us had The Nigerian and British flags etched on our faces by the stand-by artist in the spirit of the Olympics. Coffee/ Tea and Croissants/ Doughnuts flowed freely courtesy of Ford Motors Buckingham (Big kudos).

I'd never seen so many people out at one time in Buckingham! Crickey, in the words of the English! I had no idea that Buckingham had that many people! There's nothing like a bit of sports to bring out the world's rich mix of people. Honestly, I'm a bit chuffed at the privilege of seeing the Olympic Torch. I admit, we all went a bit ballistic when it turned up, hollering, hooting, hopping about and carrying on. Lol! I must have ran a good 100 meters race trying to get a shot with one of the torch bearers! I can't wait for the opening ceremony though. That will really be something.

Patriotic!

Repping green, white, green.

Amazing day!!!

I need to catch up with some shut-eye and hit the research mode later on. The term starts today, so no more fun and games, no pun intended. :D

In the spirit of the Olympics,

Light and Love,
